Didier Drogba conjures one of his greatest ever solo goals as the Chelsea legend shows he still has it at the age of 39
Ivory Coast striker's deadly dribble for Phoenix Rising even has social media users wondering if he could do a better job than the Blues' current frontmen
DIDIER DROGBA conjured one of his greatest ever solo goals at the age of 39 - just as his old club Chelsea could do with him most.
The Ivory Coast legend jinked across four players before ramming home as the Phoenix Rising team he co-owns beat Portland Timbers II 4-2 in the USA'S second tier, the United Soccer League.
Stamford Bridge boss Antonio Conte might cast a wistful eye across the pond as a peak-form Drogba - from a decade ago - might solve many of the Blues' current problems.
One Twitter used claimed the ex-Galatasaray frontman was "still better" than current Blues hitman Michy Batshuayi, who is battling for a place ahead of £650million summer buy Alvaro Morata.
And another Tweeter urged Conte to bring Drogba back.
Drogba himself must be impressed that he can still add silky individual goals to his more traditional close-range pounces and power-finishes.
He seemed to enjoy his latest strike almost as much as when netting 104 times in the Premier League for Chelsea.
Drogba is even more famous for his late equaliser against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final and especially for his shootout winner in the same game.
But his power and child-like enthusiasm are still clear to see in the US.
After 21 goals in 33 games for Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact, he is again averaging more than a goal every two games for Phoenix.
And the solo special that helped down Timbers might not even be his best goal of the season.
He rocketed home a 35-yard free-kick against LA Galaxy II during a 2-0 victory in August.
