Manchester City hit hardest of all Premier League clubs by international break after stars clock up 106,000 air miles
MANCHESTER CITY have been hit the hardest of all the Premier League clubs by their stars jetting off for international duty.
Pep Guardiola has assembled a glittering squad packed full of national team players all looking to book a place in the World Cup next summer.
But in doing so he has built a group have are having to jet all over the world to represent their countries in the final round of Russia 2018 qualifiers.
City have no less than 15 players away on international duty - a number equalled only by Liverpool.
But the miles their stars have to travel total up to a staggering 106,873, well more than the 71,023 miles Liverpool players will clock up.
So one of the biggest jobs Guardiola has next week when his squad report back for duty is ensuring they are all clear of jet-lag and tiredness in time to face Stoke on October 14.
The research by bettingexpert.com shows just how much distance is covered by players from the big six clubs in the top flight.
Eighty players from City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham were called up for international duty this time round.
And added together, by the time they all return to their clubs they will have travelled 399,731 miles - enough to travel round the world 16 times.
United have 14 players away with their national sides at a distance of 64,125 miles, with Antonio Valencia alone journeying 15,279 miles with Ecuador.

But both they and Liverpool will be equally concerned about fatigue affecting their players - with the two sides meeting each other in the lunchtime kick-off a week on Saturday.
Chelsea join United in having 14 players away from their Cobham HQ, with 59,090 the total miles their players will cover.
That is over 400 less than Arsenal's internationals will travel, even though the Gunners have three fewer away with their country.
Tottenham the same number called up as Arsenal, but given they have so many in the England squad their total travels only account for 38,186.
