Kyle Walker takes England free-kick against Slovenia and Twitter isn’t happy about it
Manchester City defender was on set-piece duty and it caused quite a reaction on social media
SOCIAL media wasn't happy about England's latest set-piece taker on Thursday night.
The Three Lions had a free-kick 20 yards out during the first half of the World Cup qualifier at Wembley.
Many expected Harry Kane to step up and fire a shot on goal.
But instead, it was Manchester City right back Kyle Walker.
Walker didn't trouble the target, and that led to quite a reaction Twitter.
One social media user commented: "I expect Southgate's resignation at half time purely for allowing Kyle Walker to take a free-kick."
Another Twitter post read: "First Harry Kane then Kyle Walker taking the free kick, who’s next - Joe Hart?!"
There were thousands of empty seats at the home of football for the World Cup qualifier.
