Chelsea star Eden Hazard set to agree new £300,000-a-week deal amid Real Madrid interest
Belgium star would eclipse Paul Pogba's £290,000-a-week pay package to become Premier League's top earner
EDEN HAZARD is set to agree to a new £300,000-a-week Chelsea contract, according to reports.
The deal will come as a blow to long-term admirers Real Madrid - and also see the Belgium star eclipse Paul Pogba's £290,000-a-week pay package to become the Premier League's top earner.
Hazard, 26, could agree to the Blues' sensational offer when he returns from international duty after next weekend's World Cup qualifiers, reports the Sunday Express.
The former Lille winger earns £220,000 a week and is contracted to the Stamford Bridge club until 2020.
And in August he admitted he was "waiting" to sign a new contract but insisted there was "nothing" to report yet.
Chelsea are desperate to hold onto Hazard, who is returning to full fitness after breaking an ankle on Belgium duty, amid interest from Real.
The player has spoken highly of Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane and refused to rule out one day linking up with the France legend.
But Chelsea will hope by tying him down to a new deal they will not face that prospect anytime soon - or will at least be able to command a mammoth fee for the playmaker.

⚽ Ian Wright's Premier League Sunday Tips ⚽
Former striker Ian Wright selects his top tips for Sunday's action.
"The boffins at Sun Bets tell me there has never been a Premier League game end 0-0 between these sides too so expect goals.
"I'm going to have to go with Jurgen Klopp’s men as on paper they are the much better side.
"12/1 on a 3-1 away win is very tempting."
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has urged Hazard to become more selfish and ruthless in front of goal like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He said: "If he scores one goal, he's happy and then, if there is another situation, he prefers to make an assist rather than scoring twice. I see, for Ronaldo, that if he scores once he wants two, three, four. It's the same for Messi.
"Yes, he can improve. At Atletico, he was important because he put the ball in for Alvaro to score our goal.
"It's very important that he is important in every game for us, to make chances, to score or to provide assists for our players. Very important."
Chelsea signed Hazard from Lille in 2012 for £32million and he has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League and League Cup.
