Everton star Wayne Rooney suffers nasty hand injury after being trod on by Apollon Limassol centre-half
The 31-year-old equalised for the Toffees against the Cypriots in the Europa League, but required treatment on a small gash
WAYNE ROONEY suffered yet another nasty gash after his hand was accidentally trod on by an Apollon Limassol centre-back.
The 32-year-old required treatment for the injury, as the club doctor strapped up his arm in the Europa League clash at Goodison Park.
His latest cut comes just days after Everton beat Bournemouth 2-1 last weekend, where he was on the end of a Simon Francis elbow to the eye.
Rooney managed to carry on for the remainder of the first half, though he was visibly in pain whilst on touchline.
It wasn't all bad for the former Manchester United star in the opening period.
He capitalised on a horror back pass from Hector Yuste to tap home into an empty net for Ronald Koeman's side.
His 21st minute strike got Everton back on level terms after Adrian Sardinero put the Cypriot club in front in the 13th minute.
Ashley Williams was at fault for giving the ball away, leading Antonio Jakolis to whip the ball in for Adrian to net from five yards out.
