WILLIAM CARVALHO is still hopeful he can join West Ham in January — despite the club's massive falling out with Sporting Lisbon.
A deal for the highly-rated defender was aborted on deadline day with Sporting claiming the Hammers never made an official bid for the midfielder.

Sporting director Nuno Saraiva branded David Sullivan a ‘liar’ — prompting West Ham’s co-owner to call in his lawyers.
And SunSport revealed how that would not stop the East London club going back in for Carvalho in the New Year.
But the Mirror now claim Carvalho himself is still confident he will get his move to the London Stadium.
Relations between the two clubs will have to improve if any switch is to be done after a chaotic final day of the transfer window.
West Ham reckon Lisbon kept changing details of any deal — including the price — while Lisbon say no official bid was ever made.
Emails from inside West Ham appear to show the club making a £22.85million offer plus add-ons for Carvalho, to be paid in three instalments.

Hammers hit back at De Carvalho’s insults in the latest round of vitriol.
