Diego Costa ‘leaves Brazil to head to Spain in attempt to force Chelsea into selling him to Atletico Madrid’
Striker has been AWOL all summer but could now finally be on his way back to Europe to push through switch back to Spanish capital
CHELSEA outcast Diego Costa is on his way back to Europe.
However his destination is not London – the striker is heading to Spain to force through a return to Atletico Madrid, according to reports.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports the wantaway striker boarded a private jet to Madrid in the hope of forcing Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s hand in the saga that has run all summer.
SunSport exclusively revealed last week the frozen out forward has moved his family back to Spain, where he is set to join them imminently.
Bizarrely, Costa has been included in the Blues Premier League squad.
But there has been no sign of him at the Cobham training complex in Surrey with his heart set on a move back to La Liga.
Costa joined Chelsea from the Spanish capital four years ago for £32million and has bagged 58 goals in 109 appearances.
Los Rojiblancos hope to conclude a deal in the coming days that allows Costa to train with the Diego Simeone’s squad and be fit and raring to go when the club’s transfer embargo is lifted.
