Brighton and Crystal Palace both failed with £9m deadline day moves for Porto hotshot Moussa Marega
BRIGHTON and Crystal Palace both failed with deadline day moves for Porto star Moussa Marega, according to reports.
The Portuguese giants rejected bids of £9million from the Premier League rivals.
That is the claim made by O Jogo, who say that it was the Seagulls who were leading the chase for the striker.
Chris Hughton was desperate to land a striker before the close of the window for his newly-promoted outfit.
He made several attempts at securing a frontman without success.
Moves for Cardiff City's Kenneth Zohore and Deportivo La Coruna's Florin Andone both failed.
He also tried to get Tottenham flop Vincent Janssen on loan, but the misfiring Dutchman instead joined Turkish side Fenerbahce.
That led to him trying to persuade Porto into parting with the 26-year-old Marega.
