Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique targeted by Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua who are set to replace Gus Poyet ahead of next season

Despite splashing out on likes of Carlos Tevez, Fredy Guarin and Obafemi Martins, they find themselves 11th in table

LUIS ENRIQUE could be lined up for a swift move to the Chinese Super League, according to reports in Spain.

The 2015 Treble-winner followed in Pep Guardiola's footsteps and opted to take 12-month sabbatical following a trophy-laden spell at Barcelona.

And TODOmercadoWEB claim big-spending Shanghai Shenhua want Luis Enrique as manager for next season.

Current boss Gus Poyet has endured a disastrous despite the huge outlay, as they currently find themselves as low as 11th.

Shenhua chiefs would expect much better, having made Carlos Tevez the highest-paid player in world — and spent big on the likes of Fredy Guarin and Obafemi Martins.

Luis Enrique won a staggering nine trophies in three seasons at the Nou Camp, as well as the Copa del Rey in each campaign.

He has been a reported target for Chelsea, along with former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.
