Luke Shaw starts for Manchester United reserves against Arsenal at Leigh Sports Village
United full-back is set to start for Red Devils' Under-23s against the Gunners while Jack Wilshere misses out through suspension
LUKE SHAW starts for Manchester United in their reserves' clash against Arsenal tonight.
The left-back has had a nightmare with injury problems before and since Jose Mourinho's high-profile criticisms of the player last season.
Shaw played for United's second string before the international break against Swansea, but his involvement tonight suggests he is not in the frame for their clash with Stoke tomorrow evening.
United's team includes first-teamers from seasons gone by, including Shaw, highly-rated midfielder Scott McTominay and James Wilson.
Meanwhile Jack Wilshere has been left out of Arsenal's side to face United at the Leigh Sports Village in Manchester, after getting a red card in their match with City before the international break.
Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson have all been named in the first team after starring for the Gunners in pre-season.
Arsenal are third in the Premier League 2 division 1, after two wins and a defeat so far, while the Red Devils have had a win, a defeat and a draw, sitting seventh.
Mourinho's first team face Stoke tomorrow night in a 5.30pm kick off at the Bet365 Stadium.
