Petr Cech slams Arsenal’s philosophy as he hails Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho
PETR CECH had some damning words on Arsenal's current philosophy - but does insist that mentalities at the club are changing.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper joined the Gunners in 2015 and helped them win the FA Cup last season, although he was benched for the final.
Things at the Emirates appear to be turning sour after a dismal start to the season, with boss Arsene Wenger set for crunch talks this week.
And Cech has been speaking himself about the situation about the club, and he did not hold back.
The 35-year-old told So Foot in France: “On arriving at the club, I said to myself: ‘OK, Arsenal has not won the Premier League for ten years, but I want to be the one who manages to bring them back to the title.’
“The concern is that one does not develop a winning mentality by clicking their fingers.
“If we look carefully, there is hardly anybody in the team who has won the Premier League … There is Danny Welbeck and me. We must learn together, we must find this path to victory.
“My dream today would be to win as much with Arsenal as with Chelsea, but I do not think I have ten years ahead of me for that…”

But it was not all doom and gloom from the veteran shotstopper, who believes things are changing.
He continued: “The philosophy at Arsenal is completely opposed to this: it is not win at all costs but we want to win with a good way of playing.
“This is beginning to change in our approach. Yes, as Jurgen Klopp said, we’re near to classical music.
We play with beauty, synchronisation between instruments – it’s a philosophy rooted in Arsenal’s DNA.
“We refuse to play without a good way of playing and that’s something that is passed from generation to generation. I think we find good balance during the last weeks of last season.
“The main idea today is to continue to control the game including securing our advantage at the back.”
Although Arsenal supporters will have found some solace in his words, they will find no comfort in his praise of former manager and current Manchester United chief Jose Mourinho.
Cech added: “When he [Mourinho] arrived at Chelsea from Porto, he brought the main thing: he came from a club where it was not acceptable to him to finish second in the championship.
“He brought the same spirit to Chelsea. He thinks only about victory, whatever the price.
“He hates draws. If we returned to the dressing room with a draw, it was known that he would not be satisfied. On the other hand, he also wanted be able to keep a 1-0 or beat a team 5-0 if possible. No matter how, Mourinho wants the result.”
