Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino accuses his stars of lacking mental strength and refuses to blame Wembley after Burnley snatch a 1-1 draw
Boss slams 'lack of concentration' as Spurs stretch their dismal run at the Arch to just one win in the last 11 matches
MAURICIO POCHETTINO accused his Spurs stars of lacking mental strength.
The Tottenham boss refused to blame Wembley for this latest flop — but pointed the finger at his players after Chris Wood’s last-gasp equaliser.
It extended Tottenham’s poor run at the Arch to just one win in their last 11 matches.
Poch, who had seen his side go in front through Dele Alli’s 49th-minute strike, said: “This had nothing to do with Wembley — it was a lack of concentration at the end.
“I agree we can’t afford many more mistakes like this if we want to challenge for the title.
“We need to work hard to try to be stronger, as this is a mental problem that we need to fix.”
Harry Kane missed five decent chances as his run of never scoring a Premier League goal in August continued.
Boss Pochettino said: “We had enough chances to win the game. But if you do not kill off the game, you must not lose concentration at the end.

“I feel sorry for Harry because he had the opportunities to score and always a striker needs a bit of luck.
“But I am sure he will start to score soon, I have no doubt about it.
“I think we need to stop blaming Wembley. If some people are thinking about that, they need to stop.”
Burnley boss Sean Dyche said: “Our mentality is purely to keep going until the last breath.
“We’ve done it many times in my time at the club.
“They always give everything until the last breath of the game — and we did that against Spurs.”
