Rafa Benitez keen on reunion with Pepe Reina at Newcastle but faces competition from PSG — and could turn attention to Wayne Hennessey in goalkeeper search

RAFA BENITEZ is drawing up an emergency hit list if Pepe Reina cannot join from Napoli.

The Newcastle boss was counting on his old pal but the keeper, 34, is now being chased by Paris Saint-Germain.

Argentinian Fernando Muslera is just one alternative but Galatasaray would want big money, while West Ham’s Adrian is also costly.

Crystal Palace’s Wayne Hennessey has even come up as a surprise target.

Benitez is looking to sell Karl Darlow — but he cannot find a buyer.

The 26-year-old’s sale would help with a Reina bid.

Benitez is keen to add more Premier League experience to his squad as Newcastle face a fight to stay in the league after a difficult start to the season.

He and Reina worked together for five years at Liverpool — and then another at Napoli in the 2013-14 season.

Newcastle earned their first victory of the season when they beat West Ham 3-0.

They started the season with defeats at home to Tottenham and away to Huddersfield.

But goals from Joselu, Ciaran Clark and Aleksandar Mitrovic secured a much-needed three points.
