Tottenham ‘agree £23m deal for PSG star Serge Aurier’, subject to a work permit

Ivory Coast defender is banned from entering the UK after being handed a two-month suspended jail sentence last year

TOTTENHAM have agreed a £23million deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Serge Aurier, according to reports.

The Ivory Coast right-back underwent a medical yesterday in Paris and is ready to join Spurs, subject to a work permit.

Aurier, 24, was handed a two-month suspended jail sentence last year for assaulting a police officer and is banned from entering the UK.

Manchester United were in the race for the controversial defender and had reportedly agreed personal terms.

But Spurs look to have pipped their Premier League rivals, according to Sky Sports.

Aurier is surplus to requirements at PSG following Dani Alves' arrival.

But as he had his medical in Paris, it suggests he is unable to enter the UK.
