West Ham line up Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez as pressure builds on boss Slaven Bilic after just TWO GAMES of Premier League season

Slaven Bilic's side has had a disastrous start to the season, conceding seven goals in two Premier League losses

SLAVEN BILIC'S future at the London Stadium could be in jeopardy after his team's rocky start to the season, according to reports.

The Hammers are already looking for a Plan B to avoid another season of walking the thin relegation line.

Co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan are tempted to part ways with Bilic before his contract runs out at the end of the season despite their usual reluctance to make mid-season managerial changes, reports the Mirror.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has had his name thrown into the mix, with the Hammers still holding him in high regard despite turning them down in 2015 to take the Real Madrid job.

He too has had a tough opening two games of league play, failing to score any goals or pick up any points and has expressed his frustrations with the team.

The Spanish manager has been locking horns with Magpies' owner Mike Ashley over the clubs transfer business and said his team is not yet ready for top-tier football.

At least one of the teams will pick up some points in their next Premiership match up as the teams are set to meet on Saturday.

The Hammers opened their season with a 4-0 loss at Old Trafford before travelling to Southampton to ship another three goals in a 3-2 defeat.

Despite the Hammers reinforced team with the addition of Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez, they again find themselves at the bottom of the table and in fear of another tussle with relegation.

However the disappointing start has been aided by circumstances that are beyond Bilic's control.

His side have yet to play game from their home at the London Stadium and wont do so until September 11 as it is being used to host the World Athletics Championships.

Injuries have have prevented the Croatian from putting his best side forward with Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Cheikhou Kouyate still waiting to make an appearance this season.

Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell both had to sit out for the season opener, but their return coincided with the loss of Winston Reid who was carted off with a calf injury before the match against Southampton even kicked off.

Their struggles look to continue with newcomer Arnautovic serving a three-game ban after receiving a straight red card against the Saints.

However Bilic may get a boost ahead of their next Premier League clash as his side are set to complete a £34million move for William Carvalho.
