Arsenal transfer news: Jeff Reine-Adelaide offered to Ligue 1 side Nantes on season-long loan deal

The 19-year-old is poised for a spell in France as his first team chances are limited with the Gunners this season

ARSENAL'S teenage star Jeff Reine-Adelaide has been offered to join Ligue 1 side Nantes, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is not in the first team plans of Arsene Wenger this season, and could be shipped off on loan for some much-needed game time.

According to French news outlet L'EquipeClaudio Ranieri - now in charge of the Canaries, is interested in taking him on a season-long loan.

NOT PICKED YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM YET? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Reine-Adelaide is under contract at the Emirates until 2019, and is highly regarded by the Community Shield winners.

Since bursting onto the scene in the Emirates Cup in 2015, he has yet to make his debut in the Premier League.

Last season he featured a mere six times in all competitions - his last match coming against Sutton United in the FA Cup fifth round clash back in February.

He did not feature in any matches for Arsenal this pre-season, with 17-year-old sensation Reiss Nelson impressing as he stakes his claim for first team opportunities.

Despite being linked with a move to Nice, it appears as though Nantes are winning the race to capture his signature.

It is not only Wenger who is a big fan of the French youth international, but Gunners skipper Laurent Koscielny.

Speaking to Arsenal Player on which youth players he would like to make the step up, he opted to single out his compatriot.

He said: "I hope it’s Jeff Reine-Adelaide. He’s a young boy but I think he has a lot of quality.

"He plays some games every season and I think he can improve a lot. He can learn a lot with us.

“He has all the quality and after that it’s in his head to work more and to want to achieve something with this club.

“I hope he will start next season, play a lot and improve with us.”
