Arsene Wenger in bust-up with pitch invader who tried to approach Arsenal boss before being dragged off by stewards
French boss shouted back and forth with fan before he was dragged off
ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger was approached by a pitch invader at the Emirates - before the man was dragged off by stewards.
The man made a beeline for the Gunners boss before being intercepted, with Wenger shouting back and forth with him according to reports inside the ground, as he was taken away during the 5-2 win over Benfica in the Emirates Cup.
The fan is said to have launched a tirade at Wenger, before the French boss shot back as he was being led down the tunnel.
Other reports claim the pitch invader also FELL OVER on the slick Emirates turf.
Wenger signed a new two-year deal in June, despite months of fan protests that it was time for the manager to go after 20 years in charge.
Last season was the club's worst in Wenger's long reign, as the Gunners didn't come close to winning the title and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Beating Chelsea to win the FA Cup in May restored some pride, but the Wenger Our brigade remains a loud part of the Arsenal fanbase.
Wenger had another encounter with a pitch invader last September - when he was offered a PIE during an EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

After the game, Wenger attempted to play down the incident, although he clearly left his technical area to speak to the fan.
He said: "I saw the stewards had caught him in a bit of a strong way and I just said 'calm down'.
"He looked like he wanted to talk to me and and I tried to find out what he wanted to tell me."
Wenger also revealed that contract rebel Alexis Sanchez does have flu - despite fears he is trying to force an exit from the club.
The French boss also said that Sanchez would be "staying" in north London next season.
Chilean star Sanchez, 28, has just a year left on his contract and has been linked with a move away from the club all summer.
He turned down a £275,000-a-week contract offer by Arsenal earlier this summer.
