West Ham set to offer Newcastle and Palace target Adrian a new contract despite Joe Hart signing as their No 1
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic wants to retain the Spanish keeper - especially after Darren Randolph departed for Middlesbrough
SLAVEN BILIC hopes Newcastle and Crystal Palace target Adrian signs a new West Ham contract.
Adrian would be second-choice keeper after the Hammers lured England No 1 Joe Hart on a season's loan from Manchester City.
But Middlesbrough have recruited the Hammers' only other senior stopper, Darren Randolph.
Bilic said: “I spoke with Randolph and Adrián and we were more than happy with them.
"We wanted to keep one of them to have three keepers.
"Now that Randy went to Middlesbrough, it’s Joe and Adrián and the situation with Adrian is that we would love to keep him.
"We rate him, we like him, we would like to offer him a new contract."
But Bilic will help Adrian to move if the 30-year-old believes more regular football is important for his career, according to The Shields Gazette.

He said: “I’m confident he will stay but on the other hand, Adrián is ambitious. We want to help him.
“If he is desperate to be guaranteed to be number one we will try to help him.”
Adrian, meanwhile, had a gentle dig back at West Ham co-owner David Sullivan for calling Hart "the best goalkeeper" he had worked with.
The former Betis keeper tweeted: “Thanks for your sincerity! But you still have two great professionals respecting, fighting and defending this badge.”
