Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho slams Premier League rivals for creating ‘out of control’ transfer market… after spending £75m on Romelu Lukaku
And as well as Victor Lindelof joining up for £31m this summer, Mourinho's transfer dealings may not be over just yet
MANCHESTER UNITED manager Jose Mourinho has blasted his Premier League rivals for "creating an out of control transfer market" - despite already spending £106million this summer.
Mourinho added £75m man Romelu Lukaku to his earlier purchase of Victor Lindelof, who cost £31m from Benfica.
That adds to the club paying the highest transfer fee of £89m last summer for Paul Pogba, which was a total of £109m when agent's fees were added.
And with Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both moving to Old Trafford for £30m each at the start of last season, Mourinho has hardly been shy in loosening the purse strings.
Speaking to the BBC, the former Chelsea boss said: "Every club is getting good players, every club is investing a lot and some clubs are paying too much and by paying too much they create a very strange and out of control market.
"But this is the reality now."
Mourinho also said there may be further spending at Old Trafford this summer as he set his sights on two more signings.
He said: "I'm happy with my squad but I would like to have two more players, I never hide that, one player a midfield player would give me more options to the balance and the team.

"Another one an attacking player, especially that can play through the wings to give me more attacking options but I never speak about players that belong to other teams.
"I don't like if any manager comes and would say he would like one of my players, that's not correct. I would like two more players but probably I only get one."
Mourinho shipped off Lukaku to Everton for £28m when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge, yet has paid more than double to be reunited with him for a second time.
And while Bailly has shown glimpses that he could become the bedrock for United's defence for years to come, Mkhitaryan has failed to find that consistency during his time at United.
And speaking at a press conference in the US, where his Tottenham team are on their pre-season tour, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy also voiced some concern at the money being thrown about - days after he bagged £50m for Kyle Walker.
He said: "My view is that it is totally unsustainable.
"I’m not sure if that’s the view of the other Premier League clubs but certainly I think the prices that have been paid this summer for certain players is not sustainable in the long term.
"I am a custodian of a club that has been in existence since 1882. When I leave there will be somebody else and I have a duty to manage the club appropriately.

"I don’t think, in the end, that for any club, long-term it’s sustainable to spend more than you earn.
"You can have periods when you do, but long-term you can’t. Some of the activity that’s going on at the moment, it’s just impossible for that to be sustainable.
"If somebody is spending £200m more than they are earning, eventually it catches up with you. You can’t keep doing it."
Both teams are currently training in the US on pre-season tours. Spurs play Roma in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) while United face Barcelona early Thursday morning.
