Anthony Martial turns Dani Carvajal inside out in setting up Manchester United’s opening goal against Real Madrid
Twitter reacts to Anthony Martial's incredible footwork to set up Jesse Lingard's tap-in
ANTHONY MARTIAL had Man United fans in a frenzy on social media.
The Frenchman showed superb skills to set up Jesse Lingard with a tap-in on the stroke of half-time at Levi's Stadium.
Martial produced some silky footwork in leaving Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal for dead after cutting in from the left flank.
The United forward dribbled past one of the best full-backs in Europe like he wasn't there.
That set Lingard up with a simple finish at the far post to give United the lead in Santa Clara.
But Red Devils fans were quick to praise Martial for his part in creating the opening goal in the International Champions Cup clash.
Some Twitter users joked that Martial sent Carvajal all the way back to Spain in leaving him for dead.
Others compared his run to his first ever United goal when he did the same to Martin Skrtel before slotting into the far corner in a victory over Liverpool in 2015.
Here's the best of what social media was saying about the Frenchman...
