Manchester United miss out with Fiorentina striker Federico Bernardeschi set to join Juventus
Young Italian hotshot to seal £36million deal with Serie A champions after deciding to ignore the Prem for his homeland
MANCHESTER UNITED have lost out on Federico Bernardeschi.
The Fiorentina striker is set to join Juventus for £36million and is expected to take a medical with the Italian champions on Saturday.
Chelsea had also been linked with 23-year-old winger, who has shown his preference to stay in Serie A.
At one stage it was thought Fiorentina would prefer to sell him abroad rather than to a key rival.
Bernardeschi refused to sign a new deal with Fiorentina, which looked at one stage as though it would be easier for United to pursue him.
Last season Bernardeschi scored 16 goals in all competitions for club and country.
Juve, too, had been chasing him for several months - and the breakthrough came on Friday.
