Manchester United show off third kit as they revert back to grey jersey for first time since infamous shirt swap against Southampton in 1996

MANCHESTER UNITED have unveiled their new grey third kit - the first time they have used the colour since their infamous half-time kit change in 1996.
Stars such as Paul Pogba, Daley Blind and Jesse Lingard all proudly posed with the Adidas strip, which was designed by Red Devils fan Aniello Carotenuto.
The kit also boats a silhouette of the 'Holy Trinity' statue - where Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law stand arm in arm proudly in front of Old Trafford.
A club statement read: "The Creator Studio platform allowed fans the opportunity to design the third kits for United and five other clubs – FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid CF, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo – the ultimate expression of fan creativity.
"All submitted kits were voted on by fans in a 'battlemode' that saw the most popular kits shortlisted to a top 100.
"The winners for each club were then chosen by an expert panel of some of the clubs' most iconic players and a design by Aniello Carotenuto came out on top at United.
"The kit, which will be worn during the 2017/18 season, represents the powerful bond between the team and our fans. The light grey shirt is designed with a graphic showing the silhouette of the famous 'Holy Trinity' statue outside Old Trafford.
"The statue of club icons Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law represents a golden era for the club and this unique history was the inspiration for the new third kit."
But United fans won't have fond memories of their last strip donning the particular hue - picking up just a solitary point in five games when wearing the grey shirt in the 1995/96 season.

Their last outing wearing grey came in April 1996, where they went in at half-time losing to Southampton 3-0 at St Mary's.
Sir Alex Ferguson's men then came out after the break wearing a blue and white jersey, however they still ran out as 3-1 losers.
Ferguson alleged that the players couldn't see each other in the glaring sunshine in the south coast.
He said: "The players don't like grey strip. The players couldn't pick each other out.
"They said it was difficult to see their team-mates at distance when they lifted their heads.
"It was nothing to do with superstition. This club went 26 years without winning the league and we didn't think about changing the red shirts. It's nothing to do with that at all."
United still ended as Premier League champions - finishing four points clear of Newcastle United.
