MANCHESTER UNITED appear to have the upper hand against rivals Manchester City as they were cheered on by the Houston Texans cheerleaders ahead of the derby clash on Friday.

The two Premier League giants will face each other at the NRG Stadium in Texas tomorrow for their first match in the International Champions Cup.

Jose Mourinho's side have already won twine in the USA this month - beating LA Galaxy in a thrilling 5-2 win, before Romelu Lukaku grabbed his first goal for the club in a 2-1 victory against Real Salt Lake.

Not only are they almost fully match fit, but they are being spurred on by Houston Texans very own cheerleaders - despite the girls spending quality time with a City journalist.

United tweeted: "It just wouldn't be a proper match day in the States without cheerleaders - thanks for your support," alongside a video of the cheerleaders gathering in their numbers, profusely declaring their love for the club.

Together in unison, they sang for over 35 seconds: "Oh United we love you," which didn't sit well with the Europa League champions' own fans.

One supporter commented: "I'll bet all of my money that none of them can name more than 4 of our players."

While another responded by saying: "I'd bet all of my money none of them can spell their name."

Another die hard fan simply said: "Deactivate."

One person who certainly will feel aggrieved by their admission of love will be none other than Citizens reporter Kelly O'Donnell.

The CityTV employee spent time with the group as she tried her hand out at cheerleading with the girls, but her positive attitude and energy wasn't enough to sway them to support Pep Guardiola's men.

To add insult to injury for City supporters, the only place you watch the match live in the UK is on MUTV.
