Sergio Romero’s Manchester United gloves are STOLEN during the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of the USA
Argentina goalie left his gloves behind in a media room and was shocked to discover they had vanished when he returned
SERGIO ROMERO had his goalkeeper gloves ROBBED during Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the USA.
The Mirror claims the Argentine shotstopper left a pair of his favourites behind in a media room at the Beverly Wilshere hotel.
Romero had been giving interviews and left the room without taking them.
However, they were no longer there upon his return, and he is yet to get his hands on them again.
Romero is sure to be feeling anxious until he gets the gloves back, but will no doubt be handed a fresh pair as United continue their build-up to the new Premier League campaign.
The 30-year-old has been a sure-fire hit at Old Trafford following his free transfer from Sampdoria in 2015.
Romero was United’s first-choice goalkeeper in the Europa League last season, helping Jose Mourinho win the trophy to secure Champions League qualification.
And after his impressive performances, Romero was recently handed a new contract by the Red Devils.
Manchester United transfer news
United have already played two games against LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, winning both of them.
They face fierce rivals Manchester City in the small hours of Friday morning before playing Real Madrid three days later.
A tough clash against Barcelona follows that match before they leave America for fixtures against Valerenga in Oslo and Sampdoria in Dublin.
