Marcus Rashford capped a brilliant display with two goals, whilst Marouane Fellaini, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial also found the net in Los Angeles.

Romelu Lukaku, United’s £75m new signing, came on as a second-half substitute but failed to score on his debut. The former Everton striker can expect to start this time around alongside fellow new signing Victor Lindelof. Mourinho may experiment with three at the back, with promising youngster Andreas Pereira anchoring the midfield.

Having secured their place in the Champions League, through winning the Europa League, United are preparing for their 2017-2018 campaign with a packed pre-season schedule.
