ARSENAL have long been bracing themselves for an approach from Paris Saint-Germain over Alexis Sanchez.

And it seems the time has come...

Sanchez’s future continues to be uncertain, although his latest comments saying he wants to play Champions League football suggest he wants out.

And PSG, it seems, could challenge Manchester City for the Chilean striker.

According to the popular and well-followed PSG ITK on social media, PSG appear to be moving to land their man this summer.

The rumour mill even suggests the Ligue 1 moneybags are already in talks with the South American star.

Sanchez is sure to be demanding a huge amount of money from PSG due to the French tax system.

But that won't worry PSG unduly, especially as they know they probably have a better chance of bagging him than City, one of Arsenal's chief title rivals.

  • Born in Tocopilla, Chile on December 19, 1988
  • Began his career in Chilean club Cobreloa, breaking into the first-team after one year in 2005
  • Signed for Italian club Udinese in 2006 and spent one season on loan at Colo-Colo in his home country, then another at Argentine club River Plate
  • Signed for Barcleona in 2011 in a £23million deal
  • Won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, Supercopa, Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup during three seasons at the Nou Camp
  • Signed for Arsenal in 2014 for £35million
  • Won the FA Cup in 2015 and 2017, as well as the Community Shield in 2014 and 2015
  • Claimed the Cop America Cup in 2015 and 2016
  • Named PFA Fans' Player of the Year in 2015

There was even talk at one stage of Arsenal being actively inviting interest from PSG as they'd rather he was lost to the Premier League.

Whatever, whoever lands Sanchez will have to offer a huge fee, certainly close to £70million.

And maybe he'll accept Arsenal's reported £275,000 a week wage offer after all.

Arsenal, meanwhile, won both their pre-season friendlies in Australia and are currently in China.

They will play German champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday and Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday.
