Thomas Lemar ‘demands Monaco sell him to Arsenal as winger agrees personal terms with the Gunners’

French champions' squad being ripped apart and they are reluctant to let Lemar follow Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko exit path

THOMAS LEMAR has reportedly has set his sights on a move to the Emirates and cannot wait to work under Arsene Wenger.

And the 21-year-old winger is ready for a bust-up with Monaco if they play hardball over his dream move.

The Daily Star claims the French international is afraid Monaco might actually block his path to the Premier League.

The French champions have already lost Bernardo Silva to Manchester City and Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea.

City also look set to land defender Benjamin Mendy while striker Kylian Mbappe could be on his way to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.

So Monaco bosses are keen to put the brake on outgoing transfers before their squad is further ripped apart.

Which is making life difficult for Lemar, who will simply demand he be sold to Arsenal.

Lemar was a key figure in the club's title success. He made 34 appearances last season and was always on the Gunners' radar.

SunSport understands a long term deal on around £90,000-a-week has been agreed between the Gunners and the player’s representatives.

Lemar has another three years left on his current deal and the numbers agreed with the Gunners dwarf his current relatively modest Ligue 1 pay packet.

The Gunners are keen to maintain momentum in the transfer window following the club-record signing of striker Alexandre Lacazette.

But it looks as though Arsenal may have to smash their club transfer record again this summer to have any chance of landing Lemar this summer as Monaco dig their heels in.
