Ander Herrera set to sign new four-year Manchester United mega-deal worth £200,000-a-week to put off Barcelona
Jose Mourinho is prepared to double the 28-year-old's wages to keep him at Old Trafford until 2021
ANDER HERRERA is reportedly set to sign a new four-year deal with Manchester United worth £41.6m per year, despite Barcelona's continued interest.
If the midfielder puts pen to paper, this deal will double his current wages - making him one of the club's highest paid players.
The Spanish ace will earn a remarkable £200,000-a-week plus bonuses, according to the Daily Star.
Herrera proved pivotal to the success of United last season, establishing himself as a key player within Mourinho's well-knit side.
Following the departure of Wayne Rooney, Herrera has been made vice-captain for the upcoming campaign - with Michael Carrick set to captain the side.
The midfielder's contract expires next summer, so Mourinho is keen to seal the deal as quickly as possible.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have both voiced their interest of Herrera, who made his international debut for Spain last November.
However, this lucrative deal looks like it is going to keep him at Old Trafford until 2021, which would mark an eight-year stay with club.

Manchester United are set to face Real Madrid next month in the UEFA Super Cup final, which is an exciting prospect for the former Atletico Bilbao player.
Herrera told Spanish publication Marca: "Madrid are the most powerful side at the moment.
"They have won the last two Champions Leagues, but a Super Cup final always motivates me.
"I am just as motivated, of course, playing against Real Madrid and it's a good test for us.
"We are a strong team with a winning coach."
