Manchester United confident David De Gea won’t join Real Madrid this summer as they reckon Los Blancos can’t afford him
Los Blancos struggling to offload aces for big money fees and aren't in a position to bid for United's star goalkeeper
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly confident they can keep David De Gea out of Real Madrid’s clutches this summer as the Spaniards are unable to afford him.
ESPN claims Real do not have the funds needed to launch a move for United’s star goalkeeper.
And if Zinedine Zidane does somehow manage to find the money, a potential deal for De Gea could leave Los Blancos in breach of Financial Fair Play rules.
Real are long-term admirers of the Spain international and are believed to be weighing up a bid for his signature.
But the current Champions League holders are finding it difficult to offload players to raise the cash required for De Gea’s signature.
Zidane could not find a buyer for disgruntled playmaker James Rodriguez and ended up allowing him to join Bayern Munich on a two-year loan.
Meanwhile, Real were expecting to rake in £75million by selling striker Alvaro Morata to the Red Devils.
However, Jose Mourinho ended up hijacking Chelsea’s move for Everton hitman Romelu Lukaku instead, leaving Morata in limbo.

But Antonio Conte’s Blues could end up saving Real’s skin, with the Premier League champions now considering Morata as their new forward to replace Diego Costa.
Chelesa are also looking to sign Bernabeu right-back Danilo in a £30m switch.
And the £100m-odd could be enough for Real to succeed in their pursuit of De Gea’s signature.
