WAYNE ROONEY leads out Aaron Lennon in Everton training as Ronald Koeman's side prepare for their historic clash in Tanzania.

England and Manchester United's all-time leading goalscorer will be part of the first Premier League team to play in eastern Africa.

And he got stuck in with Lennon - who in the past few days thanked fans for support after being sectioned under the Mental Health Act - during a session in Dar Es Salaam.

Rooney recently returned to his boyhood club after 13 years - and admitted he had been wearing Everton pyjamas throughout his record-breaking spell at Old Trafford.

The former Three Lions skipper smiled as he took part in passing games alongside former United teammate Morgan Schneiderlin.

Rooney is all set to make his second Everton debut in a friendly against Kenyan side Gor Mahia at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium today.

Toffees chief Koeman confirmed all players making the trip will feature for at least 45 minutes in the game.

Davy Klaassen, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez will pull on an Everton shirt for the first time.

After a legendary spell at Manchester United, Rooney said of Everton's pre-season fixture: "I'm looking forward to it – it should be a good trip.

"It’s good when you go away with the team.

"It’s good to be around the hotel with the players, spend more time with them and get to know them more."

Toffees boss Koeman added: "This is our first friendly and everybody will be involved for 45 minutes in the game.

"You play football to win and we will do that in Tanzania."
