MANCHESTER UNITED are confident of finally wrapping up a deal for Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic.
The Independent report the clubs are still apart in their valuation of the Croatian winger, but a compromise of around £45million is set to agreed within the next week.
The 28-year-old and his representatives have already agreed personal terms with United and the player is keen to get the deal done so he can join up with the United squad on their 18-day pre-season tour of America.
The Perisic saga has threatened to drag on all summer with the Italians failing to budge on their asking price for the attacker who moved to Serie A from Wolfsburg in 2015.
Sources close to the Premier League side are confident a deal can be struck before Jose Mourinho’s squad return from the states.
Perisic could be the third addition this summer as Mourinho plots the next stage of the rebuilding job at the club following the arrival of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
New Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has been hopeful of keeping Perisic at the San Siro this season.

Perisic scored 11 league goals in 31 games for Inter last season, another reason why Spalletti is keen for him to stay.
Spalletti told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "There'll be fewer chances for those players who are distracted, and better opportunities for those who want to stick with Inter.
"Perisic is an important player for us, we're counting on him.

"Let's see what he has to say, I don't expect him to say that he wants to leave, that would be bad, we’ll see what his intentions are.
"But it's just you (the media) who are telling me he wants to go, he's not said anything to me. But we are Inter and so we can decide to do whatever we want."
United are still in the hunt for a central midfielder with Chelsea's Nemanja Matic and Totttenham's Eric Dier on their radar.
