Wayne Rooney arrives at Everton training ground ahead of move from Manchester United as part of Romelu Lukaku deal
Red Devils skipper will make return to boyhood club this summer after 13 trophy-laden seasons at Old Trafford
WAYNE ROONEY has arrived at Everton's Finch Farm training ground for his medical, ahead of a return to his former club.
The Toffees have agreed to sell top goal scorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United with the Red Devils skipper moving in the other direction as part of the deal.
Rooney became the world's most expensive teenager when he left Everton for Old Trafford in 2004 at the age of 18.
And the move did not go down well with the Goodison Park faithful after the striker constantly professed his love for the Toffees, before leaving on the final day of the transfer window.
But it certainly worked out well for him.
He won five Premier League trophies, the League Cup four times, the FA Cup, the Europa League, the Fifa Club World Cup and a Champions League in 2008.
While, in 2010, he was named PFA Players' Player of the Year and won the Football Writers' award.
United confirmed this morning they had agreed a deal to sign Lukaku from Everton, and Rooney will go the other way.
