The National League North club have announced that they will become a full-time side from next season, so a ruthless hiring spree is required.

Casper is just one of 12 new additions to the Salford side, with the bosses looking revamp the club prior to the new campaign.

The former United, Bournemouth, Swindon and Reading professional will essentially be acting as an intermediary between the club's managers and the board in his new role.

Since the takeover by the Class of '92 in 2014-15, the club has earned back-to-back promotions.

The Ammies are aiming to make their way into the Football League within the next four years and stand as firm favourites for this year's title.

Moor Lane, the home of Salford City, has undergone a full redevelopment with all four sides of the ground improved.

Salford's new sporting director played alongside Neville, Scholes and Giggs in United's FA Youth Cup winning team in 1992.

The defender failed to cement his position in the United starting line-up, but he went on to pursue a successful managerial career.

Casper took charge of Team Bath in 2002, before managing Bury for three years - which at the time made him the youngest manager in the top four tiers of English football.
