Manchester United eye Marc Bartra in stunning deal from Borussia Dortmund as Jose Mourinho wants more defenders
Former Barcelona centre-back has only been in Germany for a single year but could now be heading to Old Trafford
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly plotting a bid for Borussia Dortmund star Marc Bartra.
Jose Mourinho wants another centre-back despite already landing Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
And the M.E.N claims ex-Barcelona ace Bartra is top of the Special One’s wishlist.
The 26-year-old has only been in Germany for one year after completing a £7million switch last summer.
Bartra ended up making 23 appearances in all competitions under former Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.
But the defender was forced to undergo surgery in April after being injured in the bomb explosion that hit the team coach before their Champions League clash with Monaco.
However, Bartra has since made a full recovery and will be raring to go for the new season.
Whether he fancies quitting Dortmund after just a single year remains to be seen.

But United aren’t shy when it comes to splashing the cash and are sure to offer Bartra a lucrative pay package in their bid to tempt him to Old Trafford.
The report adds that Mourinho had initially wanted to bring Michael Keane back to United.
But the Burnley man snubbed his former club to agree a deal with free-spending Everton instead.
