Ronaldo, 32, asked agent Jorge Mendes to seal him a dream move to Old Trafford after being accused of owing the Spanish tax man £13million.

But Perez told esRadio: "I know Cristiano is angry, but I think he will stay.

"I haven't spoken with him. The only thing that has to be done is to wait and talk after the Confederations [Cup]."

Ronaldo is in Russia preparing for tonight's Confederations Cup semi-final against Chile.

His silence over his future means transfer speculation is ripe, with United and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for his signature.

But Perez added: "I have spoken with Mendes about him. No need to worry more than [is needed]."

Real are ready to pay Ronaldo's tax bill to keep him at the club.

And Perez once again leapt to the defence of the former United ace.

He said: "He is a man of integrity and has fulfilled with his duties.

"There are many people who have wanted to hurt him with taxes and other topics and he feels it."

Ronaldo signed a long-term £500,000-a-week AFTER tax contract in November which keeps him contracted to Real Madrid until 2021.
