While Ronaldo is still expected to stay at the Bernabeu, club president Florentino Perez has decided against speaking with the ex-Man Utd hitman until Portugal are finished at the Confederations Cup.

And, according to reports in Spain, that has left Morata in limbo, with Real not wanting to agree to a sale until they are sure Ronaldo is staying.

Morata spent last weekend on his honeymoon with wife Alice Campello, but is expected to immediately settle his future when he returns.

The move will prove a shining success for the Red Devils as Chelsea are also chasing the Spain international.

Though the Blues will now be more free to pursue Everton star Romelu Lukaku, who Mourinho had also been linked with.

Mourinho has had to rethink his summer targets after Ibrahimovic's injury and Atletico Madrid's transfer ban - resulting in a new deal for Antoine Griezmann.

Morata's transfer opens the door for Real to sign Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe, 18, is set to be offered a stunning 900 PER CENT pay rise by the Ligue 1 champions, though Los Blancos reckon they can lure him to the Bernabeu.
