Peter Crouch and Glen Johnson enjoy a beer at Cheltenham Festival as they prepare to face front-runners Chelsea on Saturday

PETER CROUCH was snapped knocking back a pint as football's finest showed their faces at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Stoke striker is surely due to be in the squad when the Potters welcome Chelsea to the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

But Crouch and fellow former England international Glen Johnson and Scottish team-mate Charlie Adam donned their finest attire as they rocked up for another day's racing and liquid refreshment.

Britain's most successful ever manager Sir Alex Ferguson was also spotted at Cheltenham - but that's no surprise.

Lee Grant and Geoff Cameron were also spotted in the stands at Cheltenham as the Potters squad and pals looked to enjoy a flutter on the racing.

Crouch also appeared at the front of the balcony sticking his thumb up, maybe he even won a few quid!

The retired former Manchester United boss is a huge lover of horse racing and was spotted in Gloucestershire yesterday along with ex-midfielder Paul Scholes.

Ferguson and Bryan Robson did an interview on Radio 5 Live - and were apparently enjoying themselves in hospitality.

It was Ladies' Day at the horse racing festival and there were plenty of fine pieces of attire on show.

For rugby, former England centre Mike Tindall accompanied his royal wife Zara to the festival.

British and Irish Lions head coach Warren Gatland took a break from the Six Nations action where he is looking to whittle down his squad for the trip to New Zealand.
