Manchester United legend Park Ji-Sung plays for student team while studying at De Montfort University in Leicester

South Korean cult hero won four titles and the Champions League while at Old Trafford

IMPROBABLY Park Ji-Sung was one of Sir Alex Ferguson's favourite Manchester United players.

The South Korean was a massive success at Old Trafford despite doubts among many fans that he had only been bought as a marketing ploy to appeal to fans in the Far East.

Park, 35, played more than 200 matches in his seven years at the club, winning four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Now Park is retired - and studying at university.

He studies Management, Law and Humanities of Sport MA at De Montfort University, Leicester on a one-year course.

Incredibly, Park was seen playing in a game between students on Thursday night.

The match was between students on the course and the DMU Vice Chancellors XI, which is made up of staff.

Unfortunately for the student team their ringer, whop also won 100 international caps and played at three World Cups, couldn't turn the tide.

Park's team LOST... 7-1.

Speaking about the course to the University website earlier this year, Park revealed he chose the course because of a recommendation.

He said: "One of my colleagues said it had been a great experience and though many players go into coaching or management, I wanted to improve my knowledge of football around the pitch and then perhaps work in the South Korean football league."
