Claudio Yacob signs new two-year contract extension with West Brom
Tony Pulis hands tough-tackling midfielder an improved deal to keep him at the Hawthorns until 2018
CLAUDIO YACOB has penned a new and improved contract with West Brom.
The Argentine midfield would have been free to leave the club next summer upon the expiration of his contract, but the club have moved to keep him at the Hawthorns for a further two years.
And the tough tackler also has a further 12-month option which could be potentially triggered.
Yacob told West Brom's website: "I'm pleased to sign a new deal with the club.
"It wasn't a difficult decision because everyone working at the club, the fans and the players have all made me feel very comfortable since I've been here.

The 29-year-old joined on a free transfer from Argentine side Racing Club de Avellaneda in 2012.
Yacob has become a firm favourite with the West Brom faithful in his 129 appearances.
His solitary goal for the Baggies came in the 1-1 Premier League draw against Arsenal three years ago.
Boss Tony Pulis has started the Yacob in all six league matches so far this campaign and he is delighted to have secured the future of one of his key man.
Pulis said: "Claudio is a great professional and players like him are vital.
"I'm happy we've tied him down to a new deal."
