ALAN PARDEW is targeting out-of-favour Liverpool man Danny Ings as he aims to end West Brom's goal drought.

The Baggies are in serious danger of relegation as they sit it in 19th place with just 15 points from their opening 20 games.

Pardew is yet to win a game as West Brom boss since taking over from former-manager Tony Pulis.

He is looking to Reds man Danny Ings to solve their problems in front of goal, as they've just scored 14 goals this campaign - only second to Swansea on 11.

The 25-year-old has hardly featured since his move from Burnley in 2015, with just eight first team appearances in two years - and may be allowed to leave on loan in January.

Ings was instrumental for the Clarets in their promotion from the Championship, winning the Player of the Year award in March 2014.

The English striker hasn't been able to break into Liverpool's starting XI, with Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke all ahead of him in the pecking order.

West Brom's top scorer this season is Salomon Rondon - who has just three goals for the Baggies.

Alan Pardew's side are averaging 0.70 goals per game, but conceding 1.35 a match, which is why they have only won two matches all season.

Tony Pulis' sides of the past relied on a sturdy defence, but that seems to have disappeared so far this season and they'll be in hot water if they can't turn their form around.
