Aston Villa defender shares first pictures of him training without a protective boot follow metatarsal break

JOHN TERRY has taken another step closer to recovery as he reveals that he is finally "out of the boot".

The former Chelsea skipper took to Instagram and posted a video of himself on a bike with the caption: "So happy to be out the boot" - as he looks to recover from the injury sooner rather than later.

He then posted another video to his 3.5m followers after of him receiving some soft tissue therapy on his foot followed by an image of Aston Villa training ground and a caption "Positive Day".

Over the past few weeks Terry has been fighting his way back to regain normal fitness and has been sharing his work outs in the gym.

When Terry first annouced his injury it was estimated he could be out for up to three months.

But much to the delight of Aston Villa fans it looks like it won't be too long until the 36-year-old is back in the squad due to his progress so far.

Terry has been part of every game for Aston Villa in the Championship during their campaign so far this season.
