Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly rejected Manchester United’s ‘unsexy’ offer to become Red Devils’ manager
Ed Woodward told German Old Trafford was 'an adult Disneyland' in bid to hire him weeks before sacking David Moyes
JURGEN KLOPP turned down an "unsexy" offer from Manchester United to be their manager WEEKS before the club handed David Moyes his P45, according to a new biography.
According to "Klopp: Bring the Noise" by Raphael Honigstein, United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward flew to Germany shortly before the end of Moyes' premiership at Old Trafford in 2014.
United chiefs reportedly offered the Liverpool boss "a hugely lucrative offer" to lure the German to the North-West of England.
In an extract of Honigstein's new book, Woodward is reported to have told the 50-year-old that Old Trafford was "like an adult version of Disneyland”.
After mulling over his decision Klopp ultimately met with Borussia Dortmund's CEO, Hans Joachim Watzke.
Of the meeting, Watzke said: "We first met in my kitchen. It was an interesting talk.

"I think it made a difference because he said to me on the plane that we needed to talk again in the evening.
“I was due to have dinner with my daughter, who lived in Munich, so I could only see him at 10pm.
"He straightaway said: 'I can't deal with this pressure any more. I've turned them down.”
The book also claims Klopp later told a friend that he wasn't convinced by United's offer as he found it "unsexy".
Six months after Klopp rejected Woodward's overtures, he was also approached by Premier League leaders Manchester City and Tottenham.
