JOSE MOURINHO is poised to offer Brazilian midfielder Carlos Casemiro a similar cash figure to his most expensive midfielder, Paul Pogba.
The Real Madrid midfielder is top of Mourinho's January wish list and he is prepared to make him one of the club's top earners in order to secure him.
According to Don Balon, Paris Saint-Germain have already tried to poach the midfielder after Neymar requested that efforts be made to bring his team mate from his national side on board.
But their advances were re-buffed by his club, who describe him as somewhat of a power house and rate both his skill and ability as well as how he utilises his powerful physique.
It may take more than a cash offer to entice Casemiro to Manchester, as he is reportedly happy at the Bernabeu and feels indebted to Zinedine Zidane- who refers to the midfielder as a 'fundamental' part of his squad.
He has featured in La Liga six times this season and made two appearances in the Champions League.
Mourinho is looking to add fresh talent to his squad when the January window opens and is prepared to splash the cash in order to sign a player he rates so highly.
The Portuguese boss is looking to strengthen his midfield and is willing to make the 25-year-old one of the club's top earners offering him the same salary as Paul Pogba.
During his time in Madrid, Mourinho worked with Casemiro and achieved La Liga glory.
This is perhaps why he is prepared to offer the Brazilian £290,000 a week at Old Trafford.
