Bournemouth’s Harry Arter slated by fans as ‘disgraceful’ after cheekily fooling Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah into dummy

Ireland international has come in for some criticism on social media following his antics in the Cherries' defeat against the Hornets

BOURNEMOUTH'S Harry Arter has been labelled as "disgraceful" by fans for fooling Watford's Nathaniel Chalobah.

The midfielder screamed at the Hornets man to "leave it" just as Chalobah was about to pull the trigger on the edge of the box.

The ex-Chelsea man thought it was his own team-mate and let the ball run past him only to see Arter running away to clear the danger.

Chalobah, 22, was furious at Arter's gamesmanship and made sure he gave the Irishman strong words of his own.

But he wasn't the only one that laid into Arter following the stunt.

Angry fans took to Twitter to have their say with the majority sharing their views that Arter was in the wrong.

One Watford fan wrote: "Disgraceful act of gamesmanship from Harry Arter. Thankfully it didn't matter."

Another labelled the move 'disgusting' when he said: "Harry Arter with disgusting behaviour, worse than a foul."

One football fan was quick to have his say by writing: "Very very poor gamesmanship if Harry Arter did shout "leave it."

But not all viewers saw the serious side to Arter's play with some finding the oldest trick in the book funny.

One fan bluntly labelled his move as 'superb' whilst another wrote: "I can't decide if Harry Arter shouting leave it is hilarious or one of the scruffiest things I've seen in the Prem."

Luckily for the Hornets it didn't have an impact on the end result as they brushed Bournemouth aside with a 2-0 victory.
