West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic posts sincere apology online after being sent off against Southampton

The 28-year-old was sent off after just 33 minutes of action in the Premier League meeting.

Southampton went on to snatch the win in the dying stages of the game and it finished 3-2.

Hernandez hit the target twice for West Ham, but goals from Gabbiadini, Tadic and the late penalty from Austin sealed three points for the home side.

Today's fixture was Arnautovic's second game for the Hammers after signing from Stoke on a five-year deal for a fee of £24.5million.

Since Slaven Bilic took over the Irons, no team has had more players sent off than them.

Arnautovic uploaded the heartfelt message to his Instagram story, which can be seen by his 140,000 followers.

The Austrian professional, who receives £130,000-a-week at the London Stadium, will miss the next fixture against Newcastle next Saturday.

"I want to apologise to all the West Ham fans. I just want to let u know I didn't want to let my team down and u fan.

"So please sorry COYI's a big apology to you all," the 28-year-old vented on Instagram.
