In a SunSport exclusive, the England left-back stunned his club by claiming he could leave White Hart Lane "to find his worth".

Chairman Daniel Levy is notorious for keeping a strict budget and will not match the likes of Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea when it comes to wage structure.

Rose currently pockets around £65,000-a-week whilst former team-mate Kyle Walker will now take home around £180,000 after joining the Etihad.

In Rose's revealing interview, he claimed: "I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me.

“I’m not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I’d have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club.

“One thing is for sure — I know my worth and I will make sure I get what I am worth."

With the untimely comments coming just days before the start of the Premier League campaign, it could spark a wage war amongst the players and chairman according to the Daily Mail.

Two-time Golden Boot winner Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are the club's highest earners and take home around £100,000-a-week.

In relation, West Ham's new signings Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic earn a combined £250,000-a-week.

Spurs have yet to tie down key defender Toby Alderweireld down to a new contract and it is thought the Belgian is holding off talks to wait for a better offer.
