Swansea line up shock move for Brazil star Lucas Lima from Santos to fill Gylfi Sigurdsson’s magic boots
Samba sensation has emerged as a top target for the Swans this summer to replace their wantaway skipper
Swansea prepare shock transfer for Santos attacker Lucas Lima as Everton close in on Gylfi Sigurdsson deal.
The exit of the Swans captain has been delayed until the Welsh outfit find an apt replacement for the 27-year-old playmaker.
Lima, 27, has won a dozen caps, plays in the No 10 role and is in the Sigurdsson mould.
The Samba star would cost around £15million but that has not put the Swans off so far.
City would have to pay a hefty fee and good wages to help them get a work permit for Lima and they are currently working on the cost of the overall package.
The former Internacional midfielder is a late developer and has spent all of his career in his homeland.
He first made the Brazil squad in 2015 and scored in a World Cup qualifier against Argentina.
Iceland talisman Sigurdsson, 27, will be a hard act to follow and the Swans have also looked at players with Premier League experience, with Hull’s Sam Clucas a live alternative.
The Tigers midfielder, 26, would cost about £10m and Swans supremo Huw Jenkins may opt for the more exciting South American option.
Swansea are seeking £50million, including add-ons, for the Iceland international who is a top target for the Toffees.
