Manchester City 0 Manchester United 2: Ederson has nightmare debut and is already being compared to flop Claudio Bravo
Keeper's blunder allowed Romelu Lukaku to net opener as rivals met in pre-season clash
MANCHESTER CITY new-boy Ederson is already being compared to flop Claudio Bravo after a nightmare debut.
The Brazilian stopper's blunder allowed Romelu Lukaku to score the opener as Manchester United beat the Citizens 2-0 in Houston.
Lukaku beat the onrushing stopper to a ball outside the area and was able to roll into an empty net.
And after Joe Hart replacement Bravo also endured a dodgy debut against their Manchester rivals, City fans are getting a sense of deja vu.
United supporters were quick to gloat on Twitter as the £35million signing ensured Pep Guardiola's choice of goalkeeper will remain a contentious issue next season.
Many are asking if the Spaniard would have been better sticking with England No1 Hart, who saw his exile extended after joining West Ham on loan.
City are having to pay the outcast £55,000 per week for the duration of the season-long deal.
And combined with Ederson's fee and wages, getting a solid man between the sticks is proving to be a very expensive headache for Guardiola.

City were 2-0 up at the time and held on to beat their rivals but their Chilean stopper never recovered.
After the match Gary Neville quipped: "Well, you can pass the ball but can you catch it?"
