Dwight Yorke puts house on the market for £2.25m after his company’s assets dwindle to just £2
Former Manchester United striker's plush pad, which he sued to share with Katie Price, comes with a games room and bar
DWIGHT YORKE is selling his Cheshire mansion for £2.25million after his assets dwindled to just £2.
The former Manchester United striker used to share the house with Katie Price.
But he is trying to cash in on the six-bedroom property on the outskirts of Manchester - which also features a games room and bar.
Yorke, 45, retired from football in 2009 and has since been working as a TV pundit.
Aside from his partnership with Price, he also formed half of a legendary Old Trafford double-act with Andy Cole, with the pair smashing 53 goals in for United in their treble-winning season of 1998/99.
The former Trinidad and Tobago captain ended up netting 65 times for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, before being sold by the fiery Scot to Blackburn in 2002, meaning he could still live at the house.
Journeyman Yorke then went on to play for Birmingham, Sydney FC and Sunderland.
He faced a bankruptcy hearing earlier this month after his company's assets plummeted, as revealed exclusively by The Sun.
A source said: “When you think of how successful Dwight was as a player, it is hard to believe it has come to this. Life has not been so easy off the pitch.
“His company has not done very well recently so the hearing could be to do with the company and not just his personal finances.”
Yorke set up his company Dwight Yorke Promotions in 1997 - two years before he helped United to a famous treble.

Its latest records, from September 2015, show its held assets of £6,094, down 73 per cent on the previous year.
But the company owed £6,092 in bank overdraft fees and long-term loans, meaning it had net assets of just £2.
An application for it to be struck off was lodged at Companies House last month.
