Romelu Lukaku breaks Manchester United record within days of completing £75million switch
Former Chelsea and Everton striker is already proving a hit with the Old Trafford faithful before stepping onto a field
ROMELU LUKAKU has already broken a Manchester United record - days after completing his £75million switch.
The former Everton and Chelsea striker has the Old Trafford faithful confident that Jose Mourinho can restore the glory days.
And Lukaku, 24, created history when the club's official confirmation of his move was retweeted by 93,000 fans.
The previous record was he 88,000 achieved by close pal Paul Pogba last summer when he made his world-record switch.
His performances on the field will be the major factor in the powerful Belgian justifying his huge fee, which could rise to £90m.
But it is a positive start for Lukaku as he reunites with former Blues chief Mourinho.
United face LA Galaxy in their US tour opener on July 16 where he will get his first glimpse of action.
And Lukaku will hope to hit the ground running like fellow big-money signing Alexandre Lacazette.
